what is Empodera?

The Empodera (Empower) course is an opportunity for people with disabilities to acquire tools that help them improve their possibilities to obtain and keep a job.

It is a 120-hour course that develops competencies and skills and through human development techniques, allows people with disabilities to identify their own strengths and personal, family and social areas of opportunity which empower them to reach their goals.

This course is certified by the  Secretaría de Educación (SEP) and the Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social (STPS), both ministries of the federal government through the ICAT which is the Instituto de Capacitación para el Trabajo, an institute for job training, which validates the participants’ diplomas.

Besides participating in the course, the people with disabilities will do so throughout the job inclusion process which will allow them to improve their quality of life.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Each person with a disability that participates in the Empodera course can also participate in a job inclusion process which consists of the following steps:

Recruitment and selection

The people with disabilities are convened to participate in the selection processes according to the available openings.

Empodera course

Participants must attend the 120 hours of training in the Empodera course. Those who graduate will be candidates for available openings.

Matching and Interviews

Candidates will be matched to available openings and will be accompanied by Juntos staff through hiring company selection processes.

Contracting and Induction

Once the company has decided to go through with a contract, we'll accompany the candidate so that process will be as simple as possible and the job can start.

Follow-up

We make a commitment to the company and the person hired, to accompany them in the first months of employment in order to mediate or remedy situations that may arise.

Ongoing training

We will conduct ongoing training courses where the person with a disability can continue to prepare for better opportunities for development in the new job.
