Advocacy in public policies is important, but it becomes transcendent when the proposals are made by those involved, from their knowledge and understanding of their circumstances, capacities and interests. We’ve achieved this by using the Advocacy methodology.
Our objective is to change the way in which governments legislate to generate lasting and sustainable change for whole generations in a region or an entire country.
Our first experience in Public Policy advocacy was with a proposal to the State Congress that would mainstream gender perspective in the Law for inclusion of people with disabilities.
After this, we’ve continued to work with groups of people with disabilities, training them in advocacy methodology so that they can discover and decide where and how to participate in order to improve their context and that of those who follow in their path.
Our work is based on Human Rights, the sustainable development agenda, the rights of people with disabilities and gender perspective.
