HISTORY

FROM 1996

JUNTOS, UNA EXPERIENCIA COMPARTIDA A.C

A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS

In 1996, a group of volunteers decided to start a summer camp in which people with disabilities could participate.  Back then, recreational activities for people with disabilities were practically non-existent, making the summer camp an excellent opportunity for everyone to have fun and make new friends.

The results soon became evident:  People needed to have spaces they could share to awaken empathy and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in all environments.

THE MAGIC IS
IN THE FRIENDSHIP

Thousands of friendships have been made at Juntos

As the volunteers became more aware of the topic of disability, barriers dissipated and friendships started to form.  For more than a decade, this happened every summer at the Tec de Monterrey where the summer camp took place.

Then, friendships transcended the event; people sought other places to spend time together such as at the movies.  We began to hold parties on special dates, finding excuses to see each other more often.

Friendship is the centerpiece around which Juntos revolves and it’s the reason for growth over the years.

THE FORMALIZATION

In 2008, we constituted a Civil Association that allowed us to consolidate the basis of, what is today, Juntos: An organization that is solid, trustworthy, transparent and has great social impact.

Thank you to the founders of Juntos. Thank you for creating a space, for joining wills and efforts that have translated into thousands of lives being better, in thousands of agents for change that, like you, want to see and live in a better place.
Thank you Vero, Rafa, Marta P., Marta M., Ale, Armando, Jorge, Ceci, Maru and everyone who witnessed the birth of Juntos.

Thank you always!
